Setting and maintaining the desired standards of behaviour expected of seniors.
The constitution gives the committee wide powers to select the right calibre of people to invite to become seniors and to maintain the desired standards of behaviour expected of seniors.
Inter alia the committee:
Circumstances giving rise to either transfer to non-playing status or termination:
The Committee may determine what action, if any, it shall take if in its opinion:
Circumstances giving rise to termination:
The Committee shall have the right to terminate the membership of a member whose conduct in the opinion of the Committee:
Procedure:
The constitution gives the committee wide powers to select the right calibre of people to invite to become seniors and to maintain the desired standards of behaviour expected of seniors.
Inter alia the committee:
- Has the absolute discretion to accept or reject any application for membership
- Has the right to terminate a senior’s membership
- Is not obliged to give reasons for its decisions.
Circumstances giving rise to either transfer to non-playing status or termination:
The Committee may determine what action, if any, it shall take if in its opinion:
- A member is in breach of his obligations under the constitution
- An active member fails without an acceptable reason to maintain a sufficiently active interest in the Society’s affairs
- A member ceases to be an active member
Circumstances giving rise to termination:
The Committee shall have the right to terminate the membership of a member whose conduct in the opinion of the Committee:
- Is unbecoming of a member of the Society
- Is considered to have been prejudicial to the interests of the Society
Procedure:
- The member will be given the right to be heard
- A decision to take action must be taken by a Committee having a minimum quorum of six of whom two thirds have voted in favour of such action
- A member shall have no right of action or claim against the Society, the Committee or its members
